Trading

Which tokens can I trade?

Any pump.fun token on its curve or on PumpSwap, and most other Solana tokens through a Jupiter route. A few kinds are refused, and the review says what an issuer can do.

The app works out where a token trades by reading the chain. You do not choose the venue.

The review's Trades on row says which: "Pump" or "Jupiter" with the route.

Finding a token

The picker on Trade lists about 2,700 tokens by market cap, and you can paste any mint address. When a search finds nothing, the picker says "Paste the mint address instead; any Solana token address works." Searching happens in your browser: nobody learns what you looked for. A pasted address that is not on the list is named by WiSP's server, which is asked for that address only.

Each row may carry tags:

  • a seal if the token is on the verified list, or "unverified" with a short address if not;
  • what its issuer can do: "issuer can move", "pausable", "freezable", "transfer program", "mintable", "fee on transfer";
  • "Token-2022" for tokens on the newer token program;
  • a crowd tag such as Private · small crowd when fewer than 200 wallets hold it. A fresh wallet among few holders is easier to notice than one among thousands.

Tokens with special issuer powers

WiSP offers every token that can trade and leaves the choice to you. When an issuer has powers over holders, the review lists them under What the issuer can do, for example "issuer can freeze your balance", "issuer can mint more" or "fee on every transfer". Read that row before you approve.

Tokenized stocks with a share multiplier trade through Jupiter. Their amounts are shown after the multiplier, with the raw figure beside them.

What is refused

Through a Jupiter route, a token is refused only when it cannot work:

  • "Token refused: it cannot be transferred"
  • "Token refused: new holders start frozen until the issuer approves them"
  • "Token refused: its issuer has paused transfers"
  • "Token refused: it uses a token feature this app cannot check"
  • "Token refused: its share multiplier cannot be read"

On the pump.fun curve and PumpSwap, the rules are stricter: no mint or freeze authority, and only the metadata features pump.fun itself uses.

Routed trades

A routed trade goes through Jupiter, which sees the trading wallet, the token and the amount, and your IP for that trade. Routed trades are checked by their structure and a simulation, and the review adds Checked on chain: the trade fails unless the wallet keeps a stated amount of SOL and ends with the stated token balance.

If something goes wrong

  • "This token was not found on Pump: it did not launch there, or this RPC did not return it; try another RPC".
  • "This route is too large to carry its safety checks; try a different amount".
